Your Cozyla Visual Chore Chart: Making Tasks Accessible, Empowering, and Fun!

For all you Cozyla Calendar users, welcome to the Cozyla family and @michelletate. How outstanding that your boys are already interacting with their chores through Google Keep! That’s a huge win, especially in a household with diverse needs. We’re just a few weekends in, too, with some new ideas, and like you, we’re discovering how this device can transform the way we manage routines and empower our kids.

Your concept for a visual chore chart is highly effective, particularly for children with disabilities who benefit from visual cues and structure. Let’s explore a few ways you can make this happen on your Cozyla 2+:

Option 1:

Visual Chore Chart Using Google Keep + Canva

Yes! Canva is a fantastic tool to build custom visual chore lists your child can recognize and enjoy using.

Here’s a quick how-to:

1. Go to Canva (on your phone or desktop): https://www.canva.com/

2. Create a custom-sized design (e.g., 1080×1920 pixels for vertical portrait display).

3. Add images or icons next to each chore (e.g., toothbrush icon for “Brush Teeth”).

4. Use large fonts and color coding to make the list engaging and accessible.

5. Save as an image and upload to Google Drive or Google Photos.

6. Use Cozyla’s Photo Frame widget or Keep Notes widget to display it on a dedicated screen.

Bonus Tip: You can layer icons and text for each step in a chore (e.g., “Wash Hands” = faucet + soap icons), which adds extra clarity for visual learners.

Option 2:

Google Slides or Google Docs as Interactive Checklists

Want a more interactive option where your child can check off tasks?

1. Create a Google Slide deck with visual chore charts.

2. Each slide = one day or task group.

3. Add checkboxes (or use emojis like ✅ or ⭐).

4. Open the slide deck in full screen on Cozyla or pin it using the Layout Editor.

5. If your child prefers tapping to check things off, this gives them a real sense of progress!

Option 3:

Brili Routines or OurHome (App Alternatives)

For a more app-driven approach:

• Brili Routines – Built specifically for children with ADHD and developmental needs. Includes timers, visual icons, and positive reinforcement.

• OurHome – Great for chore assignments and gamified rewards, but slightly less visual.

You can install both from the Google Play Store directly on Cozyla.

How to Display It on Cozyla 2+

• Use the Layout Editor to add a “Google Keep” widget for live syncing.

• Or set a dedicated page with your child’s visual checklist image as the background or photo display.

• Enable portrait mode to make visual scrolling easier!
